You didn’t hear… or did you hide willingly under the bed of abstraction?
Maybe you did hear about Boko Haram and other terrorist movements in action…
But, you see, your geography professor told you as did your musician,
With all the calm and seriousness of an academician,
That Kousseri, Maroua, Mora, Tourou, Moskota, Koza, Ouzal, Mozogo,
And other localities or infrahuman countries must go,
Because their humanity index is so low, and,
They are located on an unknown planet, the land of tomorrow.
Why worry about the future
While one calmly drinks today’s culture?
Maybe you didn’t see what is happening on social media as your soul became a taro…
Because, above all, you must set your economic priorities right to beat the antihero
And accumulate as much power and things as you can carry in your empty barrow.
Your business professor told you so, with his academic sombrero.
Your financial advisor is such a genius so different from the harrow
That you gather things, things and more things, and the great dinero.
You eat power, power and more power over bones without a marrow.
Aren’t they mere keys to your success today and tomorrow?
Your eyes can’t see while you dream to be the next pharaoh
And, after all, your neighbor is just a dried arrow!
Who will cry for those who no longer have heads?
Who will become a shelter for those who no longer have beds?
Who will eat for those who can no longer smell the odor of fresh breads?
Who will bring joyous colors to lives painted in multiple reds?
Who will tell Europe, America, Asia and others, that Boko Haram spreads
Faster and deeper than the swiftest fighters and meds?
Who will act? Who will dig? Who will lovingly address the roots
Instead of relying solely on boots?
Oh! I wish you and I were the recovered triumphant shouts of the voiceless!
Oh! I wish you and I were the beautiful tears of the tearless!
Oh! I wish you and I were the real wealth of the resourceless!
Oh! I wish you and I were the reconstructed ramparts of the powerless!
Oh! I wish you and I were the regained smiles of the hopeless!
Oh! I wish you and I were the lost but found face of the faceless!
Oh! I wish you and I were the living image of the divine rock for the baseless!
Oh! I wish you and I were the real value of lives so priceless!
Regardless of our religious backgrounds, we are all humans;
Would you and I actively navigate against the currents and stop treating others as subhumans?

Comment écrire quand les mains sont en grève
Et cachées dans le château des fibres du cœur ?
Comment parler quand la voix lutte sans trêve ?
Comment penser quand les larmes amères chantent en chœur ?
Adama, ton départ est si brusque
À nos yeux enveloppés de douleur,
Que du fond de notre âme débusque
Un questionnement sans couleur :
Que signifie ce départ énigmatique
Sans Jàmm ak jàmm et le dernier jour de l’an ?
Est-ce un subtil sermon charismatique
Comme pour nous dire dans ton dernier élan
Que tu as déjà terminé ta mission et ta course
Après avoir servi avec amour, diligence, zèle et fidélité ?
Est-ce une invitation à puiser à la divine source
En toute sincérité et dans l’intégrité
Afin d’achever avec honneur notre terrestre pèlerinage
Quand viendra notre tour de rejoindre notre Créateur ?
Seigneur apprends-nous à gérer notre temps sans gaspillage.
De tous tes dons et talents fais-de nous d’excellents administrateurs.
Nous ses amis, ses parents, sa famille, ses sœurs et ses frères
Secoués par l’ouragan de la peine sur l’océan de la séparation.
Apprends-nous à garder les yeux fixés sur ta divine sphère

Le 1er Janvier 2019
Suite au décès du Pasteur Adama DIOUF survenu le 31 décembre 2018 dans son Sénégal natal et plus précisément à l’hôpital Saint Jean de Dieu de Thiès des suites d’une courte maladie. Adama est né le 5 Septembre 1964 à Langomack au Sénégal. A l’heure de sa promotion en gloire, il était Président du Conseil d’Administration de l’Institut Universitaire de Développement International (IUDI) et WAR CC Advisor à World Vision.
Adama fut un excellent pasteur, un pionnier courageux, un enseignant dynamique, un missionnaire passionné, un visionnaire équilibré, un ami sincère de tous les enfants, un ambassadeur infatigable de la compassion chrétienne et de la paix auprès des adeptes de diverses religions à travers le monde, un excellent leader, un père de famille attentionné, un fidèle serviteur de l’Éternel. Nous remercions le Seigneur qui a bien voulu nous le prêter comme camarade de classe, ami intime, plus que frère, et très proche collaborateur dans le ministère. Mon épouse Priscille et moi sommes également reconnaissants à notre Père céleste pour la grâce de le revoir encore en sa sainte présence et pour l’éternité selon la bienheureuse espérance décrite dans 1 Corinthiens 15. Nous invitons tous les frères et sœurs à prier et à soutenir son épouse Sylvie et leurs enfants.
Note: « Jàmm ak jàmm », qui apparaît dans le dixième vers, signifie « au revoir » en Sérère (la langue maternelle de Adama DIOUF).

When our tears lose their vocabulary,
When our loss frightens the ordinary,
When any type of paper runs from ink,
When the boat of our joy wants to sink,

Truly we miss our father Jack Murray.
Emptiness is coloring everything with fury
Two types of tears gain in altitude:
Tears of sorrow and tears of gratitude.
Lord, show us what to do.
The architect of the Francophone University,
Has silently vacated the city.
The Board conference room is weeping.
Diplomas and awards are sleeping.
Is this an academic coup?
He was an excellent mentor.
He was a living bookstore.
He was a friend always on our side
When life pushed us aside.
His heart was always true.
Jack embraced the universe.
He welcomed the diverse.
He always had a word of prayer
For anyone finding life hard to bear
And for those who are thriving too.
He lived like a millionaire
With a dollar a day.
He gave like a billionaire
With joy in every way.
Your servant truly honored you.
Lord, teach us how to catch Jack’s passion
For spiritual generosity without ration.
Move all the fibers of our soul,
In the direction of Your scroll,
Never again to say adieu.
